This Privacy Policy explains how Cloudify3D ("the Service", "we", "us") processes personal data when you upload images, create an account or otherwise use the Service. We act as the data controller under Art. 4 (7) GDPR.

2. What we process and why

  • Uploaded images and generated point-cloud results — to deliver the core service. Legal basis: contract (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR) for registered users, legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR) for anonymous use.
  • Account data (email address, display name, hashed password, optional Google account ID) — to authenticate you and let you manage your jobs. Legal basis: contract (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR).
  • IP address — used transiently for rate-limiting and abuse prevention. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).
  • Technical session cookie (c3d_session) — keeps you signed in. Legal basis: strictly necessary, Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR / § 25 (2) TTDSG.
  • Operational logs and aggregated job statistics — to detect errors and improve the Service. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

3. Data retention

  • Anonymous users: uploads and generated point-clouds are not stored beyond your session. Because anonymous visitors have no account, there is no way to return to a previous job, so the data is purged automatically within — hour(s) of upload.
  • Registered users: jobs are kept for — day(s) after upload, or are deleted immediately when you delete the job or your account.

The registered-user retention window is configured by the operator and read live from the server, so the number above always reflects the current policy. Account data is kept for as long as your account exists and is fully deleted within 30 days after you close it. Aggregated, non-personal statistics may be retained longer.

4. Encryption and security

All files belonging to registered users are encrypted at rest on our server using AES-128 in CBC mode with HMAC-SHA256 authentication (Fernet). The encryption key is derived per user from a master secret that never leaves the server. Operators, administrators and other users cannot view your uploads or results — they are only readable while your session decrypts them in memory to serve a download. Passwords are stored as salted bcrypt hashes and are never recoverable in plaintext. Transport between your browser and the server is protected by TLS (HTTPS).

5. Recipients and third parties

We do not sell or share personal data with third parties for marketing. Personal data is processed only by us and by infrastructure providers strictly necessary to run the Service (hosting in the European Union). If you sign in with Google, Google acts as an independent controller for the sign-in step; we receive only your email address, name and Google account identifier.

6. International transfers

All processing happens on servers located in the European Union. Where Google Sign-In is used, transfers to Google LLC are governed by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. Your rights (GDPR Art. 15–22)

  • Right to access (Art. 15) — request a copy of your data via your Profile page.
  • Right to rectification (Art. 16) — edit your profile or contact us.
  • Right to erasure (Art. 17) — delete individual jobs or your full account at any time.
  • Right to restriction (Art. 18) and objection (Art. 21).
  • Right to data portability (Art. 20) — export your data as JSON from your Profile page.
  • Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77). The competent authority for the controller above is the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen.

8. Cookies

We use only strictly necessary cookies and a small amount of browser local storage:

  • c3d_session — first-party session cookie (HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax), expires after 7 days of inactivity. Required for login.
  • c3d_cookie_consent — browser local storage entry that remembers your choice in the cookie banner so we don't ask again.

We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the Service or in legal requirements. The "Last updated" date above always shows the current version.

  • Hochgeladene Bilder und erzeugte Punktwolken — zur Erbringung des Kerndienstes. Rechtsgrundlage: Vertrag (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. b DSGVO) für registrierte Nutzer, berechtigtes Interesse (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO) für anonyme Nutzung.
  • Kontodaten (E-Mail-Adresse, Anzeigename, Passwort-Hash, optional Google-Konto-ID) — zur Authentifizierung und Verwaltung Ihrer Jobs. Rechtsgrundlage: Vertrag (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. b DSGVO).
  • IP-Adresse — wird nur transient zur Ratenbegrenzung und Missbrauchsabwehr verwendet. Rechtsgrundlage: berechtigtes Interesse (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO).
  • Technisches Session-Cookie (c3d_session) — hält Sie eingeloggt. Rechtsgrundlage: unbedingt erforderlich, Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO / § 25 Abs. 2 TTDSG.
  • Betriebs-Logs und aggregierte Job-Statistiken — zur Fehlererkennung und Verbesserung des Dienstes. Rechtsgrundlage: berechtigtes Interesse (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO).

3. Speicherdauer

  • Anonyme Nutzer: Uploads und erzeugte Punktwolken werden nicht über Ihre Sitzung hinaus gespeichert. Da anonyme Besucher kein Konto besitzen, gibt es keinen Weg, auf einen früheren Job zurückzukehren; die Daten werden daher automatisch innerhalb von — Stunde(n) nach dem Upload gelöscht.
  • Registrierte Nutzer: Jobs werden — Tag(e) nach dem Upload aufbewahrt oder sofort gelöscht, sobald Sie den Job oder Ihr Konto löschen.

Die Speicherfrist für registrierte Nutzer wird vom Betreiber konfiguriert und live vom Server gelesen, der oben angezeigte Wert entspricht also stets der aktuellen Richtlinie. Kontodaten werden gespeichert, solange Ihr Konto besteht, und nach dessen Schließung innerhalb von 30 Tagen vollständig gelöscht. Aggregierte, nicht personenbezogene Statistiken können länger aufbewahrt werden.

4. Verschlüsselung und Sicherheit

Alle Dateien registrierter Nutzer werden auf unserem Server mit AES-128 im CBC-Modus und HMAC-SHA256-Authentifizierung (Fernet) at-rest verschlüsselt. Der Schlüssel wird pro Nutzer aus einem Master-Secret abgeleitet, das den Server niemals verlässt. Betreiber, Administratoren und andere Nutzer können Ihre Uploads oder Ergebnisse nicht einsehen — sie sind nur dann lesbar, wenn Ihre eigene Sitzung sie im Arbeitsspeicher zum Download entschlüsselt. Passwörter werden ausschließlich als gesalzene bcrypt-Hashes gespeichert und sind nicht im Klartext wiederherstellbar. Die Übertragung zwischen Ihrem Browser und dem Server ist durch TLS (HTTPS) geschützt.

5. Empfänger und Dritte

Wir verkaufen oder teilen personenbezogene Daten nicht zu Marketingzwecken mit Dritten. Eine Verarbeitung erfolgt nur durch uns selbst und durch zum Betrieb des Dienstes zwingend erforderliche Infrastrukturanbieter (Hosting in der Europäischen Union). Bei Nutzung von „Mit Google anmelden" agiert Google als eigenständig Verantwortlicher für den Anmeldevorgang; wir erhalten lediglich Ihre E-Mail-Adresse, Ihren Namen und Ihre Google-Konto-ID.

6. Drittlandübermittlung

Sämtliche Verarbeitung erfolgt auf Servern innerhalb der Europäischen Union. Soweit „Mit Google anmelden" genutzt wird, erfolgt eine Übermittlung an Google LLC auf Grundlage der EU-Standardvertragsklauseln.

7. Ihre Rechte (Art. 15–22 DSGVO)

  • Auskunftsrecht (Art. 15) — Kopie Ihrer Daten anfordern über Ihre Profilseite.
  • Recht auf Berichtigung (Art. 16) — Profil bearbeiten oder uns kontaktieren.
  • Recht auf Löschung (Art. 17) — einzelne Jobs oder das gesamte Konto jederzeit löschen.
  • Recht auf Einschränkung (Art. 18) und Widerspruch (Art. 21).
  • Recht auf Datenübertragbarkeit (Art. 20) — Datenexport als JSON auf der Profilseite.
  • Recht auf Beschwerde bei einer Aufsichtsbehörde (Art. 77). Zuständig ist die Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen.

8. Cookies

Wir verwenden ausschließlich technisch notwendige Cookies sowie einen kleinen Eintrag im Local Storage:

  • c3d_session — First-Party-Session-Cookie (HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax), läuft nach 7 Tagen Inaktivität ab. Erforderlich für den Login.
  • c3d_cookie_consent — Eintrag im Browser-Local-Storage, der Ihre Auswahl im Cookie-Banner merkt, damit wir nicht erneut fragen.

Wir setzen keine Analyse-, Werbe- oder Tracking-Cookies ein.

9. Änderungen dieser Erklärung

Wir können diese Datenschutzerklärung anpassen, um Änderungen am Dienst oder an rechtlichen Anforderungen Rechnung zu tragen. Das Datum unter „Stand" oben zeigt stets die aktuelle Fassung.
